That's correct. Some people feel strongly about mounted slides or getting
prints compatible with automatic printing. That excludes the S1.

Well, let's not go overboard with this sharpness business :-) Mark saw
this picture in projection and that's not the proper medium to evaluate
sharpness. You need a good viewer that will show you the entire frame
comfortably. That's why I am using the Hugo viewer.
In the past I have tried to discourage people from getting caught
into this sharpness craze. Most lenses will deliver very sharp images
at small apertures (f8 or smaller) and around the center. It is only
when you use wide apertures or are interested in sharpness at the
edges and corners that sharpness can become an issue. The interest
in a picture is usually concentrated in the center and most stereo
viewers will degrade the image at the edges (many viewers will not
show the entire 7p viewing area and most will not show more than 7p).
Also, in stereo, in most occassions a small aperture is used for
increased depth of field. The result of these factors is that in
stereo, sharpness is usually not a big issue. I have been very happy
with my Realists over the years. The problems begin when you use
wide apertures or are looking off the center of the frame.
