P3D Mounting question (was: RBT-X4 report)

Do I understand this right?  You get back from Dale mounted 35 mm slides.
You then take them off their mounts and you remount them in RBT 41x101 
mounts to use the Berezin viewer.  Then you remount them back in 2x2 mounts
to project them.  Why this long route?
