P3D Stereo-Jet Process

This process is being worked on at the Rowland Institute for Science, which is
Dr. Land's research group.  The left image is printed on a special transparent
plastic with special polarizing inks in desk-jet cartridges.  The sheet is
turned over and the right image (reversed left to right) is printed on the
reverse side.  The image is placed on a light table or overhead-projector and
viewed with polarized glasses.  When viewed without glasses it looks like a
projected stereo image when viewed without glasses, i.e. you see a double
image.  They can also make conventional prints.

They don't plan to market the process to the public, but to license service
bureaus to do it.  They are aiming at the technical vue-graph market.  These
are people used to working in 3D on the computer screen with models of DNA,
crystal structures, etc and want to be able to project the same images in
meetings.

I was able to get a reprint of a recent paper in the "Journal of Imaging
Science and Technology" from Vivian Walworth <walworth@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>.  It is
quite technical but explains the whole process.
