Let me make it more challenging, then.  ;-)  The above solution
leaves one without a shutter speed control dial.  Suppose you need
to do the lens cover removal surgery in the field, and continue
to use the camera?  Then what is the best approach.  (The only tool
available in this case was a Swiss Army knife.)
