P3D Stereo Projector Questions

I just acquired a Vivid TDC stereo projector model #116 at a photo swap
meet in Cincinatti, and could use some pointers from someone.  It seems
to work okay on my slide screen, but I've heard from other folks that a
"silver" screen is best.  Would I really benefit from using one instead
of my regular slide screen?  Also, the images work okay with the old
Poloriod glasses that came with the projector, but I've heard that they
can fade with time.  Is this true too?  The images on the screen as less

impressive than the same Realist slides viewed with a lighted hand-held
viewer.  Is this normal?
