You can get them directly from HP parts dept.  Beware though, I bought
one and for some reason it didn't seem to work.  I think that my scanner
had a much weaker light source than the HP I just ended up with a black
slide.

I settled on turning a light box upside down and putting it on top of my
scanner for very mediocre results (I was scanning viewmaster reels for
my site).  

If anybody has any hints on the HP thing please give them to me. 
However, the instructions clearly stated "supported only with HP scan
jet 6000 series scanners" so I can't exactly complain about it.  I think
that the light box idea is probably better but I need to make a brighter
light box.
