I read somewhere (maybe here) that although the device looks like
a more or less simple multiple mirror prism type of arrangement, it is
actually pretty precisely made to take the depth of the light source below
the platten and focal length to the glass into account.
When we get to the end of the semester here, I plan to update all of the
archives and re-index them. I'll announce to the list at that point.
