I bought one of those things, too.  I thought I had discovered the ultimate
in affordable scanning; but to my dismay, the slide scans were unacceptable.
I finally broke down and sent a bunch of my slides out to have them put on a
Kodak Photo CD (3-D gallery coming soon!).  It seems that with the tiny size
of a slide or negative, you have to have good optical resolution, and
software interpolation just doesn't cut it.  I think without a true optical
resolution of at least 1200 dpi, you really can't get good results.  BTW
Gabriel, your pair looks much better than anything I've tried to do on the
Artec!
