Huh?  Through the history of stereo, there have been many stereo products
were marketed *to adults* with great success, including view cards, Tru-Vue, 
VM, 3Discover... Now, granted, all these products failed to capture the
market for ever but this is true for almost everything else, including
your "barrier" thingie.

I still don't understand why you are seeing this as a competition where
one side has to beat the other.  How about coexistence?  I do not want
to see every movie, image, etc. in 3d.  Stereo is something special
and I'd rather see it treated as such.  There is certainly plenty of
room for both 2D and 3D images.
