Of course, because the sprocket is buried right inside the camera, it's not
evident to the average user that there is one at all! It works on the sprocket
hole counting method - the sprocket gear is an "idler" that is rotated by the
passage of the film. It is locked every 7 and then 21 sprocket holes to give
the 1 and three wind pattern. The film is actually transported by being pulled
by the wind on spool.

It's worth noting that there is nothing to set for rewinding the film - the
sprocket wheel cannot lock in the rewind direction.
