This is hard for me to visualize as well - but at the afore mentioned
MJT site, there is a 2D drawing of the way they are supposed to appear.
Looks like the effect *might* be stronger since it implies that you
view an object as if it were a floating solid against a background
of the current room as opposed to looking through a window. Somewhat
similar, I would think, to the implied holographic projection produced
by R2D2 of Princess Leia in Star Wars.
Having not seen one, I'm just guessing though...
