Ha harr.. the best reason of all.... limitations of available equipment 8^)

I am thinking that careful placement of lights and flash may well negate the need for
a graduated filter... but we will see. Of course the great advantage of the field camera is
that having a glass back I can play with the lighting till it looks right ! In fact if I had two
cameras I could probably free view the back planes to "test" the image before taking it..

Thanks for the compliment .. but I think its easier to start small first :)

I can imagine that when the polarised ink products become available then my ideas for products
would become more viable.. full colour, and no "funny" glasses just pop on these sun-glasses.

My problem is I get all fired up with ideas.. but unlike you I never actually get around to
doing anything about them ... :( I'm making a concentrated effort to actually do something
about phantograms... :)

I can remember when I discovered SIRDS...imagine a kitchen work surface with a SIRD
pattern on it. It would look like a standard grey speckled laminate but secretly contain
images of fish, meat, cups .. etc.. if you knew how to look at it. Before I understood
how they worked I even contemplated cars painted so that when free viewed they turned
from a family saloon into a hot rod with scooped air ducts and large wheel arches. :)

Then I found some information on Lenticular technology and started thinking about a viewer
that would have the lenticular screen built into it so that the photographic prints did not need
the laminate and hence be easier to produce. In fact if the camera had a encoding lenticular
screen built into it (ala bonnet ?) then the prints could be obtained from a standard one hour lab.
This led onto thinking of exposing small film strips in a similar way so the viewer would display
a short 3D movie (by back projection onto the lenticular screen).. like those small endless loop
movie keychains you used to find in toy stores..

Ideas are cheap... putting them into action and achieving a product is the hard part... and there
Boris has the apprehend :)
