I have created an emergency substitute Photo3D list for those of
us who cannot get through the day without our P3D fix. ;-) The
list is managed by ListBot (a LinkExchange service; LinkExchange
is now a MicroSoft subsidiary.) The service is "free" in the
modern, internet sense of the word (i.e., advertiser supported).
YOU WILL NOT BE SPAMMED. Messages distributed by the list have a
"signature" added, similar to the "do you yahoo?" signature added
to messages sent from yahoo's "free" mail service. In the future
this signature could be third party ads, but presently it is just
an ad for the ListBot service, and the URL to unsubscribe.

The signup page is at http://photo3d.listbot.com/ and the email
address is photo3d@xxxxxxxxxxxx Note NO hyphen; the system does
not accept hyphens in list names, and I hate underscores. :)
I did *not* create backup lists for S3d, SD3d, or T3d.

You will be asked to input some very basic demographics. I disabled
most of the demographic questions, but left in first/last name, and
basics like city and state. These are optional but I encourage you
to fill them out. They could be useful when 3D hobbyists want to
find soulmates in a particular geographic area. (The demographics
are available to the list owner; they are *not* public and *not*
viewable by list members.)

Messages will be automatically archived (instantly) by ListBot
(but I don't think the archives are searchable.) Also, note
that there is no list digest mode; all messages are sent in ACK
mode. When calcite comes back on line, we may be able to mail
out a "what you missed" posting of the ListBot messages, if Bob
approves.

So far replies to the ListBot test messages have all come up in
Netscape mail addressed to the message author, not the list. You'll
have to change the "mail to" address to force any replies to be
sent to the list.
