Franklin Londin from Digital Domain recommend me the paper in the website:
>
It is a good paper for understanding autostereoscopic displays.
I think the best autostereo is the combination of both strengths of 2 d
photo's nature and convenience and 3 d photo's space in the 3rd dimension.
And its purpose is for viewing by most common people not by professionals.
Therefore, the most important nature for the technologies is convenience,
good quality of images and strong 3rd dimension. when people view them
confortablly and enjoyablly and are shocked by their depths, that is enough.
The 3 D effects in some technologies with aid of special glasses are
probably better but they could not be commercialized in a large scale.
Therefore, they can not show advantages over the 2 D photos in the eyes of
most common people without glasses. That is why 3 D photos ups and downs so
many times. If the 3 D professionals would like their works to be viewed by
more common people, they have got to transfer their focus on the autostereo
technologies.
For the 3 professionals who viewed our barrier samples, I believe the most
of them agree our technology meets the requirements of above purpose and
could be used to compete strongly in the area of 2 D professional photos.
Sincerely,
Jason Shen
