P3D Re: Barbie Digital Camera

I looked into the Barbie digital camera last month as something my 5 year
old daughter could take on vacation. She loves taking pictures and the
one-time use cameras seem to go in the first 30 minutes when I'm not
watching. Then I realized you get only six images at half a TV's
resolution which is not much of a vacation travel log (even for a kid!).
Prices were in the $59-79 range.
I found the MAG 6040 at the Egghead auction site for $99. The built in 2MB
flash memory stores 64 pictures before you have to download to computer.
The resolution is 480 x 360 plus a 320 x 240 thumbnail mode. There is a 1.7
inch color LCD on the back. The advantages beside "# of images/resolution
for the price" that sold me were:
1) You can download images to a computer via a serial cable (software plus
GOO is included) OR view the pictures on the TV via the NTSC port and cable
provided.
2) Individually addressable images that can be erased or kept.
On vacation, my daughter loved the daily ritual of reviewing that day's
pictures on the TV in the hotel room and picking the "keepers". I never
cared that she wanted a picture of the drinking fountain or the cracks in
the sidewalk. Also, she could try the shot two or three times to make sure
she got it (yes, us grownups call this bracketing!). When we got home, we
made a video album on VHS tape that she can show Grandma and friends.
Only downside is that this camera is kind of a battery pig (four AA).

PS. Relative to another P3D thread, this camera is currently on eBay at
$152 - it is available in the $99 price range elsewhere.
