P3D freeview vs. stereoptican

Greetings all,
I'm still new to the whole 3d genre so forgive me if I'm treading in well
worn tracks. Here's my quandary...
I've been using a Realist to make b/w stereo negatives. Once I've made the
prints, I put the right on the right, the left on the left and can
successfully 'freeview' them similarly to stereocards. So, I decided to
make stereocards for a Holmes style viewer using the excellent tips from
APEC's 'How to make a print stereography' site:
	<http://home.earthlink.net/~pgwhacker/APEC/HowTo/HowTo.html>
Following the above procedure I mounted the matched right/left pairs but
the cards didn't fuse into 3d. Out of frustration I reversed the pairs
(right on left and left on right) and the card works in the viewer.
However, I can no longer freeview the card as the pairs are reversed.
Any thoughts on what's up? Am i mounting the cards incorrectly? Have my
eyes permanently fused from so much freeviewing? ;-)
Thanks for any help you can provide!
	Dan
