Different films have different-colored color masks. The 
photo shop's machines read the code id off of the film and 
adjust accordingly. But you (theoretically) should be able to 
figure your own compensation for different films this way. 

1. When shooting your film, leave at least one frame completely 
blank. For Realist shooters you get one of these automatically. 

2. Scan the blank frame and bring into the graphics editor of 
your choice. 

3. Balance for pure white and record the corrections. This is 
the color mask correction. 

4. You may have to do other corrections for tungsten/daylight, 
etc., but this will be a good starting point.
