P3D Radex Viewers and Radex Views questions
- From: "Mr.Lizard" <mrlizard@xxxxxxxx>
- Subject: P3D Radex Viewers and Radex Views questions

Recently, a P3D member asked where to get Radex hold-to-light viewers. It
reminded me that I'd recently purchased one, with three views, for a small
fee.
The viewer is red and white, and looks brand new. Perhaps it's the style
that Dddalia sells. Are these "new" - old stock? The viewer I received has
no markings on it, but works fairly well with my Realist slides.
It's the set of 3 views that I find most interesting. The thickness and
width is similar to realist cardboard mounts, but the height is greater.
The radex brand name is printed on them, with pictures of a couple of kids
having fun with radex viewers. The images look like 1950's kids, maybe.
The 3 views are part of a set of (I'm guessing here) 6 views of nursery
rhymes. Unfortunately, the film chips were mounted in mirror image to each
other. That is: On EACH of the 3 views, one of the images was apparently
inserted backwards. Of course, merging them is quite an
impossibility...unless... I try to take out one chip and flip it. Since the
mount has a slit in it and I can see the sproket holes on the top of each
chip, I may be able to coax one out with a good pair of tweezers, and
reinsert it frontwards. I will attempt this.
Here're my questions:
#1 Did radex make some views this way purposely? Did they have some other
kind of viewer with mirrors? OR
#2 Were the people (or person) mounting these views a bunch of boobs?
Can someone shine some light on this? (That was sort of a bad radex pun)
Thanx,
Chuck Field
(HEY! Maybe they're very valuable examples of an uncommon mistake!
yeah....right.)
