It was a weak argument in the film (which is one of my all time
favorites, and I've seen it at least a half-dozen times thus far).

However the specifics had to do with pages of written/drawn diagrams that 
appeared to look like multiple pages of a document.

I don't think there is any 3D used for text sort of documents like
the ones shown in the movie.  All of my books are themselves flat
documents, with flat pages, even the ones that have stereoscopic 
photos on them!  The document *themselves* are 2D.

In the movie, the document itself was 3D.

Weak arguement, but adequate. :-)
