I can only comment on stereographic systems that have been implemented.
I think that's reasonable, don't you?

I am also reacting to the plain meaning of the words quoted.  If he
meant something other than what they appear to say, I have no context in
which to make that determination.

Don't take my word for it, go back to the original quote.  It's in the
title.
