P3D 2D/3D
>3d photography records one view (from two eyes!) exactly, and that is all.
3D photography records TWO views from two lenses.
>The "trick" is fooling the brain into thinking what is in truth two 2D
images is one 3D one.
Doesn't a stereo pair contain 3D information?
> Also, in a hologram you have to focus at
different depths to see the image that appears
to be at that depth. This is quite unlike a
stereo slide where you have to uncouple the
focusing of your eyes (focus at a fixed distance)
while you view objects in the scene that appear
to be at different depths.
When you look at a stereo slide your eyes refocus to see objects at
differing distances. You can hunt around in a slide to pick out
different objects.
Evidentally our Holgraphers don't understand the principles of
Stereophotography. I enjoy a good hologram from time to time, but you
have to have the proper lighting at just the right angle and even then
there is a very thin depth of focus, plus the colors are off. My $.02
worth.
