P3D 3D-comic using defraction

A few years ago the KFC group gave away comics on toy story which when
viewed with supposed 3D glasses will appear to be 3D - I manage to lay my
hands on these comics and it seems to use a method of light defraction which
does create a relatively good 3D image for a comic - I also noticed that if
you used the same glasses to look at cars while in the daylight a ghostly
image of the car will appear

Does anybody know  anything about this method
