My reply:
A professor at Cal Tech gave a lecture a few years ago in which he tried to depict some "stereo" images
illustrating the stereospecificity of various chemical reactions. The poor guy had a right and left
superimposed on a screen using a single lens projector. It was such a mess that one was unable to
decipher anything. I approached him and offered to instruct him on the art of true stereo projection and
give him some of my mounts for free. His reply was that he did not have time for such activities.
He referred me to his "girl" whom I never was able to contact. How could poor little me teach an
eminent professor anything about stereo? He did invite me into his lab where he had state of the
art computing equipment including Kerr shuttered glasses. The images on this screen were startling.
