My buying mentor shared this story with me. If I can help a P3der save
money, what the heck, right? My friend and wife agreed to purchase a
projection TV...they had already selected the brand, size, features etc.
beforehand. The set was available in black or oak finish ( not walnut)
They had previously decided to purchase the oak finish. My friend
entered the store excited to show his wife the set " he" wanted to
purchase. As he counted his cash ( cash is key to successful buying) the
salesman approached anxiously! " I'll take this set...do you have one in
stock?" " SURE! the salesman replied. ( set was Hitachi 46" for $2200 or
so) " I have a truck outside...I don't need delivery....can someone load
it in for me?" OF COURSE! the salesman replied. My buddy said " Great!
I'll take one in walnut finish!" The salesman replied " I'm sorry
sir...they don't come in walnut." The wife said impatiently " let's
go...it figures you would screw this up!" As she stormed out of the
store my buddy said " look....it's now or never....give me your best
deal and I'll tell her you will try to order a walnut model that we can
exchange later. Of course, between you and me...I won't be back and I'll
explain the offer I couldn't refuse after she settles down, OK?" My
friends purchased the oak set they wanted in the first place for $1800!
Now, if I could learn to do that in E-bay.........( light story IR 5)
