I use 3M Scotch 568 Positionable Mounting Adhesive. This comes in a roll --
an adhesive sheet on a removable backing material. I place the Q-Vu on the
sheet so that the adhesive covers all of the solid back, and the front up
to the bottom of the view cutouts, then trim around the Q-Vu edge. After
burnishing through the backing material, I remove it, leaving a mount
mostly covered with adhesive on the inside. I use scraps of the material to
place adhesive on the divider between the views.
I trim the views to be slightly larger than the view openings, making sure
the views are trimmed square. I then place the images over the openings --
face down and properly oriented. The adhesive below and between the
openings holds the images in place. Then I turn the mount over to check
that the images are indeed properly oriented, aligned and framed as I wish.
At this point, it is easy to reposition the images.
Turn back over, image side down, then fold carefully so that the edges all
line up. (At this point if you notice a problem, you can opening the mount
and readjust the images -- but you may need to prepare a new mount --
depends on how careful you are.) Burnish the images through the window
openings with a protective piece of the backing material on top. Then
burnish on the back for good measure.
Before I discovered the 568 PMA, I used Scotch permanent double stick
cellophane tape. It was kind of a pain, and there was pretty much no chance
for redress if you didn't get your positioning right the first time.
