Sorry, this is not accurate as it assumes the use of one only 
stereoscope, but more can be and are usually provided.  At the end
it depends on the style of the showing.  In a gallery where a
few people are coming in for a day or more then the viewer
works fine.  In an event like the NSA convention one hundred
people can see several hundreds of stereo images in a few hours
using stereo projection.

Also, let's not forget what you do with stereo prints you can also
do with stereo slides too.  Bring a few stereo slide viewers and
a bunch of slides in an exhibition room and you are all set.
Projection is used where projection is more appropriate.
