How about tightening up the take up spool on the camera to take out any
slack film.

Shoot your first picture, then press the button on the bottom of the
camera.  Now advance the camera film, but make sure you keep one finger
on the take-up reel so that the film doesn't actually advance.  Then
take your second picture.

The exposure may be off, so you may have to experiment with that.
