I generally feel that HARDware related comptuter oriented topics
should probably be in sd-3d (and in fact am re-directing topics there),
but the posting on the math basis for Phantograms was proper here
(although it could also have been in T3D). Note that you can buy
a book with Phantogram guides which don't involve computer usage,
since it was circa 1979, although to get anything beyond simple line
drawings that way would require more artistic talent than I have!
