Okay, you've mentioned both "processing" and "mounting" the slides yourself. I'm not
sure if you mean just mounting (not hard) or processing and mounting (more difficult).
If you just want to mount your own slides (unmounted processing is usually easy to
obtain, just take you film where you would usually take it and write "E-6 PROCESS -
UNMOUNTED - DO NOT CUT FILM" in a conspicuous place on the envelope), get in touch with
Reel-3D Enterprises (310-VE.7-2368), they have several mounts available, I suggest you
start with the easymount, then graduate to the less expensive, higher precision heat-seal
mount later. A film cutter is highly recommended, but not totally necessary if you can cut
a very straight cut on the film with a fine pair of scissors.
Processing is another matter. E-6 processing involves much less room for error than
black and white, with a warm temperature (usually 100F/37.777C) maintained perfectly during
all stages of the process. Processing K-14 at home is a virtual impossibility.
