know alot of people use XA s or XA2 s , but they use a standard cable
release and if you don't want to play with the electronics and want to
keep it simple it might be a ok way to go. How is the exposure ,do they
match that well?

Yes - about 20 years ago(!) I helped David Burder to couple the shutter
releases on a pair of 35EL cameras. Worked reasonably well, but the cameras
were not too reliable.
As to using cable releases - personally, I've never found this to be too
successfull. They tend to move around, and their effective lengths change,
altering the synch. Added to which, on the Minoxes the cable screws into the
lightweight shutter release buttons - which move under the weight of the
cables themselves - releasing the shutters prematurely.
Anyway, the cameras have great lenses, and are actually quite easy to release
together, just by pressing the two buttons at the same time.
