I think the word isn't "comical" so much as "ironic".

P.S. - Sorry about the semantics.... :-)

P.P.S. - And I also think the mono-sound does seem kind of odd except
         in the context of keeping both the photo and audio equipment
         consistantly 50's-ish.  Mono-sound with a Brackett-disolver
         show (taken with an RBT camera) would be REALLY ironic. :-)
