As I alluded to, there are certainly differences because sound, unlike
still photography, is a time-domain phenomenon.  There is no exact audio
equivalent of 3D, or even 2D, still photography.  Even a single cycle of
a sound waveform has a time component, unlike a photograph, which does a
fairly good job of reproducing the light wavefront that impinged on the
camera at a single instant in time.

However, since humans are equipped with two eyes as well as two ears,
have a brain (I risk overgeneralizing here) which can locate both sounds
and sights in three-space, and because of the wave nature of both light
and sound, some valid analogies can be made.

Since this topic has been marginally germane to this list, at best, I
will leave it at that.
