I always love the historical and scientific postings
of Abram Klooswyk and others. His latest giving
the historical line on inter-occular spacing was
another gem. Thank you. 
By careful slow reading I am now able to
comprehend over 50% of the content of 
technical postings !
Can I ask for clarification of one point ?
Abram says

Do you mean this is an inherent characteristic of the VM
system (if so why) or a characteristic of its users?
