I've always believed that the best way to get the ortho seat is to 
find the place where the width of the image on the screen subtends 
the same angle at that seat as the original view subtended at 
the camera position  when the photo was taken.   You can't always 
know, but usually, unless the camera was using very long lenses, you 
can be sure that the view was fairly wide, so sit up close.   Look 
through the viewfinder of the camera and see how wide the view is, 
and then replicate that with the screen to find the choice seat.   
Give up having a good view from the projector!
