Rosco used to make a Roscolux "gel" that was translucent diffusion
material which ought to be perfect.  (They still do, as far as I know,
but it's been years since I last worked with the stuff.) Roscolux isn't
actually gelatin, unlike Roscogel; it's plastic, but both are filter
material used in theatrical lighting.  Theatrical supply houses will
sell it by the sheet.  Edmund Scientific sells the swatch book, but
doesn't seem to sell Roscolux by the sheet.
