It is not for me to tell anyone what to do, but I can tell you from others experience that a very small percentage of shots taken in this manner are successful. It is not that much more difficult to use some type of primitave slide bar to insure a high probability of success. Just a piece of wood on a tripod would suffice, or a railing, any level surface.

I know one fellow who gave up stereo completely over his cha-cha frustrations.
