P3D Mars Pathfinder
While looking for polygon mesh models for my computer
graphics class, I ran across the following site:
http://img.arc.nasa.gov/~zbinden/photoRealVR/topvr.html
This is pretty interesting. Particularly if you have a reasonably
fast machine which can display quicktime movies. There are a couple
which are near 360 degree pans around the landing site, reconstructed
from stereo photos. If you drag the quicktime movie player forwards
and backwards, you get (or at least *I* get) a rather strong
"pufritch" effect (without glasses).
The only thing is, I'd *swear* I see a telephone pole out on
the Martian landscape some distance away, presumably a processing
artificat. Either that or it's to bring in electricity for the
MARS NOW tour busses :-)
