Actually, it has weakened all discussion of computer-related 3D. This list
used to have a fairly robust discussion thread about computer stereo-3D
almost continuously. Then came the "I'm not interested in computer stereo,
therefore no mention of it must ever be permitted to pass before my eyes"
crowd, and discussion was split off and segregated on its own list. Now
anyone wanting to discuss something computer-related was forced to decide
"Omigod, should this be here, or should it be there or should it maybe be
somewhere else?!? I don't know where to put it!!! I know! I won't put it
ANYWHERE!" And so a robust dialog on computer-generated stereo imagery has
deteriorated to a tiny, occasional list on which Larry Berlin and Bob Wier
pretty much talk to themselves.
