This audio system has more than one components: Tape, tape player,
amplifier, speaker. Why are you singling out the amplifier?
Maybe the noise was in the tape. Besides, the contents of the sound
recording were not very exciting to boot...
In any case, it seems that we just found an audio expert to handle the
audio part of our club programs. Welcome aboard my boy!

Actually, I was surprised how well I handled this program! :-) You see,
the Brackett Dissolver is a tough instrument to play. Unlike the TDC
projector where one slide pushes the other out sequentially, with the
Brackett Dissolver you are using TWO stereo projectors at once. Bob
Brackett gives instructions on how to develop a good routine and
remove the slide from one projector with your LEFT hand while you are
putting the new slide in the other projector with your RIGHT hand.
In the meanwhile you have to focus and push the illumination lever
from one side to the other. Have you tried to rub your belly with
one hand and scratch your nose with the other? :-) It takes some
coordination. Yeah, sure, at some point each hand was so confused
that I was trying to pull out the slide while it was projected... but
that happened only once I think... :-) This was the first time I
projected with the Brackett and a taped narration. I am hoping that
a few years down the road I can approach the skill of Jon Golden or
Bob Brackett... I tell ya... imagine, some people think that the TDC
with the manual carrier is difficult to use... HA!
