I recently got the Minolta Dimage Scanspeed slide scanner. It is
really impressive in quallity of image as well as its optical
resolution (2820 dpi). It scans pretty fast at the full resolution
(about 60sec) and can be really fast at the lower ones, as well as only
taking about 4 seconds to do a color preview scan.

I havn't modified it yet to take stereo slides in the mounts. This is
something I may have time to do tomorrow. But, I know for a fact that
the "drop in" 35mm slide jig (kind of like a slide carrier) can take
the thickness of an RBT, because I stuck one in side ways. The only
think I have to do is dremel out some plastic that is meant to keep 2
"normal" slides seperate. There are 4 slots, and I figure that I will
cut the 2 on one side, leaving the other 2 for use with "regular"
slides. It also came with a film strip jig, which works great with
slides in small strips (about 4.5 realist size images)before mounting
them. It said in the specs not to scan slides within glass mounts, the
glass warps the light and will cause a bad scan.
