P3D San Diego Stereo Camera Club Meeting Report
- From: Pixschack@xxxxxxx
- Subject: P3D San Diego Stereo Camera Club Meeting Report
- Date: Fri, 30 Apr 1999 03:06:23 EDT
The program for the San Diego Stereo CC meeting (4th Wed.) last night,
was the inspiring "Tops in Stereo", the very first effort to honor and
preserve the finest slides made since the introduction of amateur stereo
photography. In 1962, the David White Co. (Stereo Realist) started
collecting the top exhibition stereo slides made for several years, to
create this program of over 100 prize winning stereos from the early
leading practitioners of the art. An interesting 45 min. taped narrative
credits the makers/titles. This was the precursor to the PSA Stereo
Hall of Fame programs consisting of the most successful stereos entered
in the PSA approved International Stereo Exhibitions/Salons, since.
After the show it was revealed (by Gary Schacker, projectionist) that we
were running on fumes, so to speak. No spare projector bulbs are on
hand. Needless to say, our Treasurer Luther Harris found a surplus.
Club member Russell Hedges showed off his building project for an
electronic/digital scoring device to be reset by a TV remote once the
scores are recorded. Impressive! Food for the soul (Tops in Stereo) was
by PSA Stereo Club Program Director, Scott Blair <asblair@xxxxxxxxxxx>
Food for the tummy was by Leon & Shirley Hoffman.
Norm Henkels, SDSCC Program Chair
P.S.: We host the final (3rd) PSA Club Competition next month, don't
forget to get those Club entries in.
