P3D Who can tell me what this is?

Hi All,

At a recent photographica fair I bought a stereo macro adapter kind 
of thing.
(You know the situation: You see something that must be special, 
It is not expensive, you expect at least ten other guys are standing 
ready to snatch it away if you wait too long, so you buy it.)
So now I have this undoubtedly priceless item - but I don't know 
what *exactly* it is.

I'm calling upon this pool of expertise to help me: Have a look at

know or think you know about it.

There are no prizes to win here, just an opportunity to show off your 
knowledge of stereophotographica.
