"Machu Picchu - Mystery of the Incas"
-------------------------------------
Many of you may remember Ed Shaw's fabulous "Footsteps through Mayan
America". Ed's exhaustive efforts, traveling thousands of miles, braving
hardships to document ancient Mayan ruins, combined with choice
selection and duplication of vintage stereoiews, made this show one to
remember.
Ed returns once again to the silver screen of Stereo New England,
preserving these wonders of the world in stereo, and unlocking a whole
new set of mysteries, of places forgotten about for thousands of years,
in stereoscopic wonder, and opening the door to the ancient Inca
civilization, for all to see in 3D!
Vivian Walworth - StereoJet Images
----------------------------------
StereoJet images are stereoscopic images for the digital age. The process
takes advantage of two rapidly growing modern technologies - digital imaging
and inkjet printing - coupled with techniques for fabricating polarizers. The
two images of a stereo pair are printed on opposite surfaces of a specially
constructed sheet material, using inks designed to create polarizing dye
images. The resulting stereo prints or transparencies are viewed with
conventional 3-D polarizing glasses.
The StereoJet process and its materials have been developed by a research
team at the Rowland Institute for Science in Cambridge. Vivian Walworth, a
member of the Rowland team, will describe the process and display a variety
of StereoJet images.
