Well, yeah. But each motion picture frame is exposed to the intense
light (and heat) for just a fraction of a second.
Motion picture projectors that allow still frame viewing always drop a
heat shield between the lamp and the film to avoid incinerating the
latter. Usually, still projection from a movie machine is even dimmer
than VM projection.
