P3D Re: Kodak stereo developing

For what it is worth, I send quite a bit of film to Kodak for developing
and mounting, and I have found that they generally do a decent job. They
had improved considerably after the move to NJ compared to the year or
two before the move, with only rare pseudos /reversals/mismatches, no
more than 1 or 2 per several rolls. I presume that if there is more
inept mounting going on of late, they may have had a change in
personnel. I would _hope_ that feedback from us (and practice/training
for the staff) may improve the situation again. I agree that having the
service available is a great convenience and encourages many who would
otherwise hesitate to do stereo photography to continue to do so. And
encourage new folks to start.
I too was disappointed when they changed (several months ago) from those
nice sturdy slide boxes to the little flimsy ones, presumably for all
their slide processing. Fortunately I saved a lot of the old ones, as
they are nice for storage and for giving extra slides to friends and
relatives. -Linda
