Keith (and everyone else),

I let that message simmer quite a while before I mailed it.  You should
have seen the earlier drafts, they nearly blistered my keyboard.

I just don't like being made out to be the villain in this situation,
simply because I complained that this new "miracle applet" won't work
out-of-the-box for most people.

Anyway, it's water under the bridge now.  Andreas has put in the test
that I suggested, and the applet now points you to his compatibility Web
page if you don't have the requisite Java runtime to use it
successfully, so some light has emerged from the heat after all.
