P3D Re: PSEUDO??

>What does Pseudo mean in this sense regarding the slide mounting?

PSEUDO (Gk. meaning false) = Right image is in the left side and left
image is in the right side. This results in a reversal of stereo depth.
Things that were far away in the scene appear to be close by. If this
reversal does not contradict with other non-stereoscopic depth cues
then the brain accepts it, as in the case of computer-generated wire
models. If it does contradict strongly then it becomes a total mess
with the brain being unable to put things in their appropriate 3D
places and the result is usually confusion and loss of stereo effect.
Experienced stereo workers have entertained themselves and their
audiences with cleverly done pseudo stereo pairs.

That's all that is normally required (plus centering in the frames) if
the slides are taken with a stereo camera.

IMAGINE, KODAK CANNOT EVEN DO THAT!!! :-)

A little bit more, yes...

Chuck, see you in Green Bay? Make sure you attend the slide mounting
workshop where some of these issues will be discussed. (Also, my viewer
and manual stereo camera workshops)
