P3D Re: Kodak Mouunting Survey

I guess my reasoning for the survey was that newly hired stereo mounters (at
minimum wage?) would be looking for the special Kodak marks to make sure they
were doing it correctly. They might get disoriented:) by markings that differ
from their Kodak version. I don't think they would be aware of the optical
theory behind it, and wouldn't hesitate to reorient the slides if the non Kodak
markings were misleading compared to that of the Kodak.
BobH may be right, though. They may not handle the chips as much as I had
assumed, or my not look at the markings at all.
I agree that the survey, as I worded it may not be conclusive. It might have
more to do with the particular person doing the mounting. I don't remember if
anyone has found out how many rolls of stereo slides Kodak mounts on a given day.
I've got only one response on my survey so far. Maybe that explains it. They
only do one roll a month and they forget how its done each time:)
