hi peter! yes, these are too good to be true!! this a good example of
a great idea in theory, but not so good inpractice!! i have one!

this device is an adaptor designed around the star-d viewer. it replaces
the lens module in the viewer and is made to accept a full uncut roll of
realist format images. by threading it you create a loop that places
the stereo pair at the correct width to view. to advance to the next
pair, you wind a knob on top. here's where the problem comes in!

the advance mechanism is so sloppy that you rarely are able to advance
and have the pair in correct alignment! when this happens it means
taking the viewer apart to straighten it out! after going thru this
several times in one roll you realise this invention is not all what it
was cut out to be!! i also feel bad winding my film around all those
plastic corners for fear of scratching! the focus knob is kind of
mickey mouse too!!

i bought mine at a nsa convention to use it to edit an uncut roll just
to see which images were worth mounting! the optics and gates were not
precice enough to allow me to do this and iv'e never used it!! it's a
great collectors item!! i'll sell it to you!!!!!!
