You lose the blue information, gain nothing that I could see.  I just tried
it on Atlas Industrial Robot, Pixie, and Air Park.

The real neat thing with Method 3 - TrueColor anaglyph conversion is the
EASE of conversion.  Start with the Left image.  It is an RGB file.  Copy
all of it to clipboard (MAcspeak), go to right image (which is also an RGB
file), and PASTE into red channel only.  This paste (of an RGB file) into a
single channel effectively converts the pasted info into grayscale (the
channels are grayscales).  That's all there is to it!!!

In one simple step you can have an improved TrueColor anaglyph.
